The 3rd Person View Action-cam Mount will add a new perspective to how we capture and view sports.
Designed by Erik Vonk, it enables sport enthusiasts the ability to record their sport in a completely new way perspective rather than the boring 1st person view.
Some sports (e.g. surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding) look absolutely stunning from the third-person perspective, as seen in the video above.
Existing 1st person mounts often suffer from the problem of a stuttering video, making it incredibly uncomfortable for the person watching.
While a 3rd person camera mounts isn’t entirely new to the market, this one boasts:
- The curved carbon sandwich backplate that is worn with a waterproof adjustable sports belt
- Fully adjustable camera pole
- The unique locking/release mechanism
In my opinion, I believe that if a 3rd person mount becomes more mainstream, it will vastly increase the quality and number of sports videos we can view. Why? Because no longer will sports enthusiasts have to rely on a friend to record them. It gives the kite surfer or the parkour enthusiast, the self sufficiency and freedom to record as he/she wishes. I hope that the result of this will lead to more stunning, elegant footage of every sport. The product is still in its infancy. It looks like it has potential. Hopefully, the product is durable against the elements.
